UNITED RECORDING & PRODUCTIONS is not the new kid on the block!!! UNITED was incorporated in
the mid 60's in B'Ham,Ala. and through it's label "UNITY" and independent production deals with
major labels shared in the phenominal growth in the R&B market and brought numerous artists to
the market place. Lasting relationships were formed that have brought more than than just
revenue to the company, there is truly more to making music than gold records hanging somewhere
on a wall.
UNITED was de-activated in the mid 70's due to relocation and job opportunities available to
the executive & production staff through a series of sales and mergers.
UNITED was re-activated in Alexandria, Louisiana. My name is Bob Grove and I am now
the sole stockholder. I had been traveling and writing and amassed over 300 songs which
had not been recorded. I felt compelled to get them on tape but with rising studio cost
it was easy to calculate the potential cost of the endeavor. I decided instead to set up
a modest studio and do my own demo's. Naturally as fate would have it the word got out
and pickers and writers seemingly poured out of the wood work. I never realized there
was so much talent in the area and mostly under financed. I took the opportunity to work
with a couple of groups on a project basis. Before I knew what was happening I needed an
engineer to keep up the work load.
We have had a remakable response from up and coming acts and have assisted in 12 album
projects in the past year. We still remain small but effective and through the generosity
of our staff are absorbing some exciting projects.
Our project studio is available for our exclusive acts. Most acts are self contained
writer/artist groups. Our publishing company is looking for writers and they are involved
in the project concept as well. We always keep our ears to the rail. If you have a tape
